How we treat brokers’ listings

RealEstatesCuraçao brings together homes that brokers on Curaçao publish on their own websites. The listings, photos and texts belong to those brokers. This page explains what we take, what we don’t take, and how a broker can ask us to change or remove something.

What we take from a listing

We take the facts of a listing: price and currency, sale or rent, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, living area, plot size, location, status (such as sold or rented) and the listing title. These are the facts a buyer compares. Every listing on this site links to the broker’s original page.

Photos, videos and logos

We never download, copy or store a broker’s photos or logos, and we don’t run them through an image service of our own. Your browser loads each photo directly from the broker’s website or image service. Videos play from the platform where the broker posted them, such as YouTube.

When your browser loads a photo, it tells the broker’s website that the request comes from realestatescuracao.com. Brokers can see this and block it if they want. If a photo is blocked or removed, it doesn’t appear here and we show a placeholder instead.

Descriptions

We don’t publish the broker’s description. The descriptions on this site are our own, written from the facts in the listing by a language model that runs on our own computer. Its rules: use only facts from the listing, add nothing, and leave out prices, broker names and marketing claims. These texts are marked “Written by RealEstatesCuraçao · based on the broker’s listing”. Where we don’t have our own description yet, we show none.

We keep the broker’s original text internally, only to check our version against it. On 7 October 2026 we compared all 719 descriptions then on the site with the originals. 70% shared no run of eight words with the original. The largest overlap, 19%, was a list of furnishings.

Credit and links

Every listing names the broker that offers it, with their logo where available, and the agent if the broker names one. A “View at [broker]” button takes you to the original listing on the broker’s website. These are normal links that search engines can follow; we don’t mark them nofollow. When more than one broker offers the same home, we show all of them.

How we collect listings

A program checks brokers’ websites once a day. It identifies itself as RealEstatesCuracao-importer, with a link to this site, so a broker can see who is visiting. It makes a limited number of requests per website per day, with a pause of at least a few seconds between them.

Before we add a website, we read its robots.txt and use only the pages it allows, at the pace it asks for. If a website refuses access, for example with an error code or a bot check, we stop collecting from it. We don’t try to get around a block: no proxies and no disguised browsers.

Keeping listings current

Every listing shows the date we last checked it. When a broker marks a home as sold or rented, we show that label. When a listing disappears from the broker’s website, we check again on another day; if it is still gone at least 72 hours later, we take it offline.

For brokers: corrections and removal

Do you want a listing, photo or text corrected or removed, or would you rather not appear on this site at all? Write to [email protected] and include the link. We aim to handle your request within two working days. A data feed from your own system is also welcome: it is more accurate than reading your website. See the page for brokers.

Social media

Our posts on Instagram and Facebook don’t use brokers’ photos, unless we have agreed this with the broker.
